On what you need

The two cliches that have been taking turns flashing in front of me lately are "be careful what you wish for" and "what you want is not necessarily what you need". Trouble is I am painfully aware of both. Question is what do you do when reason loses the battle? You become, despite of yourself, a beautifully chaotic, reasonable mess.

You begin to weave a questionable and often dangerous thread of dreams, desires, and possible outcomes. You become a tyrant of yourself. A dreamweaver in distress.

We define ourselves by the outcome of our expectations but refuse to see who we are today.

The past too concrete to change, the future too conveniently fluid to mould in the shape of a reality we have not yet began to create.

and the present keeps slipping away from our fingers...
